5th Grade WORD Work

3rd Grade WORD

The computer lab at Rolesville is used by our students - from kindergarten through fifth grade. Each class visits the computer lab once a week for a forty minute session. Though this may seem like a short amount of time, the students really get a lot of learning out of this time period that they can use in the classroom and at home. The lab has twenty-nine student workstations running Windows XP which are networked with the rest of the school. Our computers are networked and feature high-speed internet access. The Computer Lab is used to training the staff and students on such things as: Blackboard, Infohandler, NCWise, Word processing, Power Point, Internet usage, basic computing, keyboarding, reinforcing academic skills and more.

DONATED EQUIPMENT STANDARDS (2003-2004)

WCPSS is involved in a multitude of pilot projects and initiatives. Some are mandated by the State, some are provided through grants, and others are initiated by department. With the influx of so much technology and the limited amount of resources to provide support, there is a tremendous need for standards.

  • Donated equipment must meet minimum requirements in order for Technology Services to provide proper support.
The minimum specifications are Windows 98 operating system, 400 MHz processor speed, 64 MB of memory, and a hard drive capacity of 4 GB.
